Front-End or Full-Stack Developer

IN-HOUSE

We’re looking for an experienced front-end or full-stack developer who can join our small but growing team. We’re ideally looking for someone local to our main office in Colchester but will consider applications from remote developers too. Salary is dependent on experience and is negotiable.

Essential skills:

  • 2 years minimum experience
  • WordPress, HTML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery / React)
  • Create fully responsive websites that scale fluidly across multiple browsers and devices
  • Faithfully recreate designs in code with care and attention to detail, including typography, spacing and image optimisation
  • Experience with using and interpreting Adobe XD and/or Figma prototyping tools, along with other Adobe programs for asset preparation
  • CSS3 including animations, transitions etc
  • SEO basic tuning and page optimisation
  • Understanding & implementing core accessibility standards
  • The ability to perform quality control checks and bug test your own work both independently, and within the wider team.

Nice skills to have: 

  • PHP
  • SASS/LESS
  • Drupal
  • Already experienced with Git for source control and collaboration
  • Advanced SEO skills
  • Advanced experience in implementing accessibility standards
  • SVG Animation & experience with Lottiefiles
  • Experience of first-line client support

Additional responsibilities:

  • Liaise with senior developers & technical director with regards to best practices (suggestions for improvement welcome)
  • Maintenance of client websites on our hosting platform
  • Develop reusable code libraries for future use, improving productivity
  • Strive to stay up to date with the latest tools, methods and best practices
  • Identify potential risks or roadblocks within projects and communicate clearly to the wider team, offering solutions where possible
  • Manage own time effectively, creating development/build plans when required, and communicating any potential delays as early as possible.
