Co-op congress is the main annual event for the co-operative sector, it focuses on bringing together co-op businesses of all shapes and sizes in a fun-filled weekend of networking, learning and deciding upon the future of the co-operative movement. The days are brimming with speakers who talk about all areas of business and aim to inform and inspire as well as there being plenty of smaller sessions which members can get involved in. The ethos behind congress is about being inclusive and helping each other, that’s what being a co-operative is about.
With that in mind we wanted to reflect this in the branding for the event, with this being an annual event it means that the brand will be used year after year so it needed to remain relevant in all climates and be adaptable to change. It has become something of a Co-operatives UK symbol now to use illustrations for their branding materials and this event was no exception, we feel as though using a relaxed illustration style helps to personify the brand and make it less corporate looking. For this event we created the brand along with an advert, banners, social media graphics, signage and a presentation template. It was our focus to create a dynamic brand that would reference all the Co-op values and have a positive impact on the public.
