How does my access card work?
On your first day you will get an access card, this is your key to the building. To enter the building tap the card at the reader by the front door of The Minories to get in, don’t let people you don’t recognise tailgate, and tell us if anything feels off. If your card goes missing, let us know straight away so we can deactivate it;
The first card supplied is included in your membership.
Replacement cards are charged at £10 each.

Fire Escape
There is a fire door at the bottom of the stairs in the co-working space, leading directly to The Minories garden. Other fire exits in the building will be pointed out to you on your first day.
Restrooms
Toilets are located on the ground floor, both off the main reception and in the back hallway towards the cafe. Please note, we share facilities with the public and other Minories staff, so please be considerate.
WiFi
We have super high-speed internet courtesy of Colchester fibre, offering speeds of up to 1000MB, (though connections may vary due to current capacity and signal strength). To access our network, you’ll need the following credentials, (these are also located on posters around the studio):

Food, drink & kitchen
Make yourself at home, but remember it’s a shared kitchen.
- We have tea / coffee available, so help yourself.
- We usually keep milk in the fridge, if you finish it, please let us know.
- We empty the fridge of food at the end of every Friday.
- We recycle as much as we can, please use the right bin and we’ll take care of the rest.
- Please wash, dry and put away any plates or mugs straight away to keep the surfaces in good condition, and avoid leaving food in the fridge as space is limited. Keeping things tidy helps everyone enjoy the space.

Frequently asked questions
Can I sit in the garden?
You certainly can. The Minories isn’t open to the public Monday & Tuesdays so we typically have it to ourselves on those days.
I want to hire a Minories space for a meeting – how do I go about this?
Spaces in the Minories are available for hire. This is handled by the Minories team and you can enquire availably by contacting info@theminories.
I wish to terminate my membership, how do I do this?
Please send us your notice to leave in writing via email with 30 days notice before your last day.
I’m a community coworker but want some extra days, how can I adjust this?
You would need to upgrade your membership to unlimited. Currently we don’t offer any in between or single day booking services.
Do I have to notify you when I’ll be in?
If you can add the days you’re planning to work in the space to the shared Google Calendar, it’ll help us manage desk space smoothly.
